How to Know Jesus

1

GOD THE CREATOR

You who are of purer eyes than to see evil and cannot look at wrong, why do you idly look at traitors
and remain silent when the wicked swallows up the man more righteous than he? (Habakkuk 1:13 )

Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. (Psalm 89:14)

God is Holy, which means He is perfect. Everything He is and does is righteous and good.
He cannot look on imperfection. He created us holy in order that we might have fellowship with Him
.

2

HUMANS HAVE SINNED

…as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one
(Romans 3:10)

…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

After God had created us, we chose to rebel against His goodness and to choose our own path.
The Bible calls any thought, motive, attitude, or action that is not worthy of God’s holiness, sin.
Sin brings death and separation from God into our lives.

3

JESUS CHRIST THE SAVIOR AND SUBSTITUTE

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
(2 Corinthians 5:21)

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. (Romans 5:10)

While God is perfectly holy, He is also perfectly loving.  Because of His love, He sent Jesus Christ, God the Son, into the world to take the death that we earned upon Himself.  Jesus was our substitute through His death and paid the punishment for our sins in full.  He then was raised from the dead proving that the sacrifice was accepted.

SALVATION COMES BY FAITH

Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying,
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand;[e] repent and believe in the gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15)

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,
9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The gift of salvation has been paid for in full by Jesus. Now it must be received in faith.
We trust Jesus by repenting (turning) from our sin and placing our trust in Jesus.
He promises to secure those who have trusted Christ and to give them true life in relationship with God as they were created.

WHAT IS MY RESPONSE?

If you would like to place your trust in Christ, you can share with God this desire and receive HIs gift.
Tell Him you know that you have sinned and that He is Holy.  Tell Him you surrender from trying to live life by your own rules and are trusting in Him alone for salvation. Thank Him for the gift of eternal life that you now receive.
